OUR SERVICES

Mary Connor

My name is Mary Connor, I am 53 years old 5’3″ 130 lbs with a goal of 123-128. With Donna’s help I am reaching my goal to feel good and get to a good racing body ratio.  I love to compete for the thrill, camaraderie, challenge, and travel. I grew up in NJ and competed as a swimmer from age 3-18. I spent the next 10 years trying to compete on the Beer Drinking team and realized that was a BAD way of life.  I started with Cross country ski racing as something to do in the winter, I did ok and things took off.

Then I tried Triathlon, did ok and got into that in the summer, Next was Mt bike racing and so on….

My method of staying fit and healthy is to sign up for races year round and compete. I like the variety because cross training helps to keep my body balanced. I have a MS in Exercise Science from NMU 1998. I teach yoga, and teach skiing at Northern Michigan University. My day job is sales at The Sports Rack and www.ski guys.com. I race year round with x-c skiing in the winter.

My main competitions this summer will start with the Bicycle Tour of Colorado. Though not a competition it will be a challenge of 480 mile, 25,000 ft of climbing in the Rockies. All at altitude and 6 days.

I am working on my running this summer and July I will compete in the Run the Keweenaw a trail running weekend. August is my Goal event for the summer.  Kupisaari  Half Ironman, the next week with The Deer Chase, 27 mile single track bike race. Labor day weekend is the Copper Harbor Fat Tire festival. To cap off the season, the Birkie Trail Marathon  in September.
